 Simultaneous performance of different interpretations

After being exposed to Umberto Eco’s – The Open Work I got more and more intrigued by music and its dynamics. I began to explore this new facet of sound and was deeply interested in the relationship between the written signs and played sounds, not only because they were another medium to bring sound into the visual realm but also because reading these signs involved “interpretation” by the performer and the listener/ viewer. This made me think of putting the concept of sound in my work into retrograde and bringing the sound back into the aural but through the visual and thus bring a conceptual balance into what I refer to as the karma of my work. Inspired by the tradition of open form of musical scores and graphic notations I tried to make my own system of notation and thus my own music score. My score is a 3D score and an interactive one, as I wanted to present the score as a performance in itself. Each facet of the Rubik cube has a symbol inscribed on it, which is open to the interpretation of the performer. With every performer and every twist of the Rubik cube there are new interpretations and compositions, the chances are finitely infinite.
